The institution has also launched a Master of Clinical Practice in 2020 June. This two-year postgraduate nursing practice degree program utilizes a blended learning approach, delivering block courses on campus and clinical internships in various healthcare settings. Dr. Rhonda McKelvie, who leads this new course, has awarded numerous scholarships to students.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the courses shifted to an online environment, providing an opportunity to demonstrate how nursing degrees can be enjoyable while learning online. This is one of Massey's largest undergraduate qualifications, operating across three campuses in Auckland, Northland, and Wellington.
Over the past 12 months, the school has invested in upgrading the nursing simulation labs at the Wellington and Northland campuses. Two brand-new, cutting-edge facilities have been introduced, equipped with dual observation spaces and high-fidelity human models, providing nursing students with a safe, simulated clinical environment for interactive learning experiences. This program aims to produce work-ready graduates with the knowledge and skills sought by employers.
The nursing courses at Massey University are approved by the New Zealand Nursing Council, ensuring that their graduates are highly competent for professional nursing roles.
